The following are the election results for the Board of Directors election for the 2010-2012 term:
There were 7 candidates for the 7 open positions for the Board of Directors.
We are happy to announce that all 7 candidates received the required majority to be on next year’s board.
Please welcome our new Board Members and also welcome back the existing Board Members who have graciously agreed to serve another term. Thank you all!

Our next semester (Spring 2010) will officially start on January 31, for both 4th-period classes for our students and for the adult classes.
Important Updates:
1. We are adding a new “Chorus” 合唱 class. This singing group requires min. 10 students to sign up in order for it to happen. Our previous Adult Chorus instructor, Ms. Ho, has agreed to teach this class. Ms. Ho is a well known conductor for several chorus groups in the Great Chicago area. Please do not miss this great opportunity if your child enjoys singing.
2. We will consider dividing our popular Art Studio class into two groups if we have enough enrollments. The more advanced group, which will focus on the drawing technique (繪畫素描), will still be taught by our current teacher Mr. Jie. The additional group is a combined arts and crafts class aimed at the younger kids. This group will be led by Mr. Fan, who used to be our Arts class substitute teacher and had garnered lots of positive feedbacks for his time with us.
3. Mr. Lee, the teacher of Mental Math – Abacus Training (MMAT) class, will have a teacher-parent meeting this coming Sunday (1/10). The meeting will be held in Room 168, starting at 10:30 am. Although it is intended for the parents of current MMAT class students, it would also be a good opportunity for anyone else who is interested in learning more about MMAT.
4. The 二胡 Erhu class meets at Room 172 from 10:20am-11:20am (for Adult Erhu) and 11:30am-12:30am (for the 4th-class).
Student Council Annual Bake Sale is here again!
Come and discover all the delicious baked goods, home-made deserts, appetizers, varieties of Asian food on November 1.
(We have sent out an email earlier this week to the membership regarding the address opt-out. For safe measure, here it is again…)
The 2009-2010 Directory will soon be published. The Directory will be issued to current CNSCS members and teachers only, 1 copy per family. Paper copy only. It will NOT be posted on the Internet.
As in previous years, the directory will include family and class rosters, along with members’ phone and email contact information. Members’ addresses will also be listed.
If you do NOT want your ADDRESS listed, please email us @ cnscs2009@gmail.com by end of day this THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15.

Ooops. The New Parents Orientation is on 10/11…
CNSCS will be hosting a New Parents Orientation this Sunday (10/11) (10/18) from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Step Room. It will be a great opportunity for you to get to know CNSCS better and to bring up all the questions you have regarding the school. “Old” parents are also welcome if you think you could use some more information on the school.
Thank you for attending the first Parents Meeting and also for coming to the Welcome Party last week. It was very nice to see many of you there and to meet some of our new members. Many thanks to Tony and Mynala for preparing a very successful party, and to Stephanie for donating her time to help out.
